Joanne Kyger

Memorial Tribute

Joanne Kyger (1934-2017) was one of the most respected and beloved poets of our time, and an almost 50-year resident of Bolinas. She published more than 30 books of poetry and prose, starting with The Tapestry and the Web (1965) and including The Japan and India Journals: 1960-1964 (2000), As Ever: Selected Poems (2002), About Now: Collected Poems (2007), On Time (2015), and Year of the Ram (2016). She taught at Naropa University, New College of California, at home, and elsewhere, and was a longtime editor of the Bolinas Hearsay NewsThere You Are: Interviews, Journals, and Ephemera will appear in September.

For this celebration of her life and work, longtime poetic colleagues and friends will read brief tributes, memories, and samples of her work, with some special added treats.
